The short version: Anchored keeps your reflections on your device. We don't require an account, we don't run ads or third-party tracking, and we never sell your data. What you write is yours.
This Privacy Policy explains how Anchored (“Anchored,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Anchored mobile app and this website. By using Anchored, you agree to this policy.
Information stored on your device
Anchored is designed to work locally. The things you create in the app — your check-in answers, results, journal entries, exercise responses, and progress — are stored on your device. We do not receive, transmit, or have access to this content, and it is not backed up to our servers (we don't operate servers that hold it).
Information we do not collect
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not collect your name, contacts, or location.
- We do not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
App analytics
Anchored does not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If you opt in to sharing analytics with app developers at the operating-system level, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized usage and crash statistics that cannot identify you. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time.
Subscriptions and payments
If Anchored offers a paid subscription, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Optional AI-assisted features
Some features may be AI-assisted (for example, an option to have a journal entry reflected on). Any such feature is opt-in and never automatic: nothing you write is sent anywhere unless you explicitly choose it for that specific entry. When you do, only the content you submit for that action is sent to our AI processing provider to generate a response for you. It is not used to build a profile of you, is not sold, and is not sent in the background. Features like this will be clearly labeled in the app before you use them.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to respond to you.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your content lives on your device, you control it. You can delete individual entries within the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from your device. Since we don't hold this content on our own servers, there is nothing on our side to request deletion of.
Children
Anchored is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Anchored evolves — for example, if we add new features. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
